SCDL Rules 2018/19

1. The title of the League shall be “The Southern Clubs Darts League” and its objects shall be the organisation of “Darts Competitions” for members of the competing clubs.

2. The above League shall be controlled by a Committee comprising Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Tournament Secretary.

3. An AGM shall be held during the month of October to receive a balance sheet for the past season and for the election of officers. All nominations for office shall be forwarded to the Secretary of the League prior to the meeting.

4. The Chairman shall preside at all meetings, with the exception of Committee meetings

5. The Season shall commence in October.

6. The League format will be agreed at the AGM.

7. A “Scorer” and Shouter shall be amicably arranged between the two Captains at a Match.

8. All matches shall be played on a board of good quality and with a raised Oche.

9. The Tournament Secretary shall be responsible for arranging the competitions and their format and venues. The first team drawn will be deemed to be the Home team.

10. League Fees will be decided by the Committee and will be notified either prior to or at the AGM.

11. All matches must start by 8.45 with an open board available from 8.30.

12. If a team “drops out” of the League during the season then all points regarding the matches involving that team shall be deemed void and removed from all other teams in the League.

13. If a team cannot honour a fixture then a new date may be negotiated between them giving at least 24 hours notice. If the match cannot be rearranged then the cancelling team shall be deemed to have lost the match with 10 points being awarded to the opposition and 5 points deducted from the cancelling team.. The League Secretary must be notified of the new fixture date within 2 days of the original match date.

14. If a team cancels a fixture and fails to notify the Home team at least 48hrs in advance then they shall be liable a £10.00 fine as contribution to the hospitality (food) costs. This fine shall be payable to the League Secretary who will then pass onto the Home team. It is the responsibility of the Home team to notify the League Secretary that this rule requires invoking.

15. The results of all League matches must be received by the League Secretary within 2 days of the match. The submission of the results via E-Mail or Text is the responsibility of Both Teams.

16. The results of all Competitions matches must be received by the Tournament Secretary within 2 days of the match. The submission of the result is the responsibility of the winning team/individual.

17. In all matters the Committee’s rulings shall be accepted as final.

18. Failure of any Club to adhere to the Rules as laid down will render themselves liable to disqualification from the League and any Club so disqualified will forfeit all rights to any monies paid.

19. These rules may only be amended or added to by Resolution of the Members at a General Meeting properly convened for that reason.
